The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche, is the founder and president of
Nitartha international. Rinpoche oversees Nitartha activities in preserving Asian literature and manages Nitartha's educational and preservation programs. Rinpoche is acknowledged as one of
the foremost Asian scholars of his generation, and is also familiar with contemporary Western methods of scholarship and education.
In addition to his responsibilities in leading Nitartha
international, Rinpoche founded Nitartha Institute; established and oversees the Nalandabodhi centers in North America; is a visiting professor at Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado;
directs the Kamalashila Institute in Germany; and fulfills numerous additional responsibilities in Asia, Europe and North America.
A graduate of Karma Shri Nalanda Institute, an affiliate of
Samprunnant Sanskrit University in Varanasi, U.P. (India), Rinpoche has also completed studies in English and comparative religions at Columbia University in New York City.
In addition to his scholarship, Rinpoche is also accomplished in the visual arts, and he has become increasingly adept at applying personal computer technologies to his educational
and artistic pursuits. Rinpoche travels and lectures frequently throughout North America and across the globe.
